Miniature Algeria Flag

Silk-like flags measure 4" x 6"  and are securely attached to 10" black staffs topped with gilt spears.  All four sides are sewn.  Bright colors.  They are perfect for everything from long term desk display to parade and celebration giveaways.

Made the official flag of Algeria after the Algerian War, this flag was adopted July 3rd, 1962.  The colors on the flag represent a celebration of  Algeria, but are symbolic of the blood of those who died fighting in the country's war of independence. The loss of those who died is symbolized in the red of the crescent moon and the star. The white is said to symbolize peace, and a hope for a peaceful future. The green, like other countries in the region, is used to symbolize Islam, the principle religion of Algeria.
