Ireland Flag

Ireland has a simple design for its flag, three vertical stripes, green, white and orange.  The green color symbolizes Irish Republicanism dating back to the Society of United Irishmen in the 1790s.  Orange represents the minority who were supporters of King William III.  White is meant to draw the two sides together, signifying a lasting truce between the two cultures and a living together in peace.
